Thursday -
Nambucca Bound
Join our luxury coach at your designated pick-up for the relaxing,
air-conditioned journey north, stopping for lunch on the way (at
your own cost). You’ll know you’ve reached the NSW Holiday Coast
when you catch a glimpse of the banana plantations cloaking the
hills. Soon you will turn in through the palm gardens, to a warm,
wonderful Destiny welcome.
Your luggage will be taken to your
rooms while you enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne, (or juice
if you prefer), meet your hosts Alan, Kay, Kevin and Eve to be
briefed on the Destiny facilities.
Then time to unpack until dinner, or in the meantime enjoy a
relaxing beverage in our Rendezvous cocktail lounge bar at special
tour guest prices.
Friday - The local area
On our past tours people commented on not seeing our local area, so
today we will head inland to Bowraville, a little country town with
its historical museum.
You’ll find a trove of
memorabilia from the past, from horse-drawn and steam-powered
machines, a 100 year old grand piano to a German wartime mine washed
up on Middle Head Beach in 1942, there is something to tickle
everyone’s fancy at the museum. We will also be taken through the
Old Picture Theatre which you will all find fascinating (gold coin
donation).
We then head to the
famous PUB WITH NO BEER at Taylors Arm, made famous by Slim Dusty’s
song. The atmosphere of the ‘turn of the century’ has been preserved
to this day with country style hospitality and the array of
artifacts and memorabilia adorning the walls - most of it with its
own interesting story. Here we will enjoy a BBQ lunch cooked by the
owner himself. Barry Fuller will be there to recite Poetry and
prizes are given away for the right answers to the Trivia Quiz.
Then onto Scotts Head
( this is optional) and then back to Nambucca where the Coach Driver
will take you on a scenic tour of the area and then drop you in the
Main Street for a little shopping time.
Saturday - Pet Porpoise Pool + Carobana
Confectionery + Clog Barn
Were off to Coffs Harbour to the famous Pet Porpoise Pool and Sea
Circus. Here you will be able to feed and touch the dolphins,
explore the contents of the sea tank through windows below the
surface and watch the turtles, sharks and fish swimming. Feeding the
fairy penguins is a must. Your luncheon stop is the Deep Sea Fishing
Club with breathtaking views.
We will then head off
to the Carobana which is Coff’s Harbour’s own confectionery factory
– family owned and operated since 1980 (Specialising in Honeycomb!).
Have a complimentary cuppa while you’re visiting and see the
workings of the factory. Purchase some goodies from the large lollie
shop.
The Clog Barn is your
next stop, a world of fun and adventure with award winning gardens.
Browse through the Clog Barn or walk around the model Dutch village.
Inside you will find souvenirs, special gifts, a large range of
collectable spoons, the exquisite blue Delft pottery and an
extensive range of Danish and Swedish clogs.
Sunday - Port Macquarie Cruise + Hastings
Olive Farm
An early start today as you head to Port Macquarie for a morning tea
cruise on the MV Port Venture for a scenic river cruise taking in
the sights of the Hastings River. The morning is often topped off by
the sighting of playful dolphins surfing in the bow waves while they
escort the Port Venture back home.
We then head to the
Long Flat Pub (Traveller’s Rest Hotel) for a lovely lunch, then off
to the Hastings Valley Olive Farm near Yarras at the foot of the
Walcha Mountains. Here you will learn all about olives and the
products they produce like Hand Creams, Bath Gels, Soap and Massage
Oils and a free tasting of all the products at the fully stocked
Gift Shop.
After a tour of the grounds a home cooked afternoon tea will be
served plus if you are feeling a bit adventurous, a hay ride will
only cost you $5. Then it’s back home to Nambucca for a little rest
before dinner.
Monday - Dorrigo + Bellingen
Today we will take you on a tour up through Dorrigo to the Dangar
Falls, where you will relax to the sound of nature’s wildlife and
beautiful waterfalls whilst you have morning tea.
Then you tour will
take you to The Glade where you can sit back with a BBQ cooked for
you by our own Chef. You can also take a walk along the skywalk to
see the surrounds from a different aspect. Then you will enjoy a
trip to Bellingen where you can absorb the village atmosphere and
browse through the local stores, or if you prefer, enjoy a cold
glass or two at the historic old pub before heading back to Destiny.
So after your relaxing day you will be able to enjoy an entertaining
party.
Tuesday - Homeward bound
Sadly today is home day. While you enjoy your breakfast your luggage
will be collected from outside your room and placed on the coach.
Morning Tea and lunch stops (at your own cost) will take place
throughout the journey. Please inform the driver at any time if you
require a comfort stop along the way.
